The Soul pillar

Soul: making space for silence and inner balance

A few minutes of stillness each day to reconnect with what matters.

Peaceful meditation moment

What is the Soul pillar?

The Soul pillar is about making space for silence, meditation, gratitude, awareness and reconnection with what matters.

It asks for very little: a few quiet minutes, returned to each day.

Soul is one of the three dimensions of the Build From Within Method, alongside Mind and Body.

Why it matters

In a noisy world, it is easy to live entirely in reaction. Silence creates the distance needed to see clearly.

Stillness does not solve every problem, but it changes how you meet them — with more presence and less haste.

Simple daily practices

  • Breathe

A few slow breaths before you begin anything. Let the exhale be longer than the inhale.

  • Be silent

Sit without input for a few minutes. No music, no phone — only attention.

  • Practise gratitude

Name three specific things you are grateful for today.

  • Reflect with intention

Ask one quiet question: what matters most to me today?

What 20 minutes can look like

  1. 3 minutes — Breathe slowly and let the body settle.
  2. 10 minutes — Sit in silence, or follow a simple body scan from head to feet.
  3. 7 minutes — Write three things you are grateful for and one intention for the day.

Even five quiet minutes count. Inside the full hour of the method, this becomes the 20 minutes for the Soul.
